How soon after surgery did you all start drinking coffee? My bariatric coordinator said to wait two months, but that seems a little excessive to me, as I am missing my morning cup very badly. Thanks, in advance for your help!

I had my first cup this morning and tolerated it very well. Thanks for the advice!

I drink my coffee warmly and mildly, and I can tolerate that; I cannot tolerate straight coffee.

I stopped reg coffee 2 weeks prior to surgery. I drink decaf and to me it tastes the same. I didn't need the jolt just the flavor

My doctor says no coffee at all...like ever after. And that's not possible. I went off for the surgery for safety reasons just in case it would cause an issue but about 3-4 weeks after I started drinking it again. I love coffee.

 

Its been 6 weeks for me and finally today had my first cup. It cause no discomfort except the warm coating my entire stomach lile a waterfall, and that even felt like butterflies to me. I did use sugar free creamer and that made it too sweet.. Ill stick to decaf because I felt super wired but will probably do it again of i meed that kick again.
