We will all have different reactions to different foods, so the best thing to do is start small and experiment. I have had only one bad reaction to any food I've tried so far, and that was cheese, and it happened only once. Other than that, I have been able to eat whatever I want. That being said, I don't eat just anything. I eat mostly plant based, with some meat/fish/eggs periodically, and on very rare occasions, corn bread or real bread, and things like that.
My point is....just try some and see how it goes. You may have a very good experience or a bad experience. How other people react may be way different than you. Also, if you have a bad experience once, wait a few weeks and try it again and it could be okay. That is what happened with me and cheese.
As with everything, moderation is key. Stay away from trigger foods that may encourage you to eat more than you should or that provide dense calories in small amounts. If you are able to have a small piece of cornbread and be satisfied with that, then go for it. If you are tempted to go back and eat more, and more, then stay away from it for now.
