So 5 days out of surgery and I suffer from sever back pain due to spinal fusion surgery back in 2021 , I’ve been on daily medications such as oxy and tizanidine , when I was in the hospital I was not given my normal routine meds and since getting home I’ve had to crush them and put them in a juice but it’s so difficult to get down and I almost feel like the effects are not really helping , anyone else experiencing this or experienced? Thanks sorry for all the questions

please don't apologize. Our questions and our answers keep this group alive and vital. There's no other place on the planet where i've felt the understanding.

keep asking for help until you get it. we understand.

p.s. do you have a pill crusher? They are truly handy.
Thanks and no I don’t but def going to invest in one

I hated crushing pills, I feel your pain.
Maybe speak with your surgeon about it, some people's surgeons allow them to swallow pills on day one.
You could ask him if you could give it a try and see how you do?

Thanks so much , the worst part is the taste of the broken pill for myself . I see this coming Monday so I’ll see what he says .

I agree, and they don't actually mix with the water. The crushed pill just kind of sits on top of the water so it was hard to get it all. Hopefully they let you swallow some pills.

Yes I hope so .. I have learned that it’s all just trial and error I guess at this point . However I def feel that the surgeon and his team should better be prepared because once you leave the hospital your pretty much on your own . My surgeon told me there nothing he can do because I’m under the care of pain management, however I spoke to them and they made better sense and said yes . I am but for something completely different and that it’s my Surgeon who needed to take care of it because that’s what I’m being treated for not my chronic back pain
