Unfortunately this much harder than I anticipated. I had RNY with hiatal hernia repair on Wednesday afternoon. I feel like I was hit with a bus. I have had bilateral hip replacements and a pelvic floor repair surgery which were much tolerable. I have profound fatigue, difficulty with any oral I take other than a sip every 30 minutes or so. The first three days had 10/10 pain from insufflation residuals. Now I just feel like I can fall asleep mid conversation. Any type of swallowing elicits horrible esophageal spasms. I am an ER nurse so fortunate to have lots of home IV hydration. I actually went to my four times a week boxing class the day before surgery so this profound fatigue and inability to toletate even miniscule sips is very scary. Any friends who had this same surgery claim to have had none of this postoperatively. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
