Does every bariatric surgery include overnights at the hospital?

Mine definitely did and you will appreciate it as you will be sore/in pain. They will let you know before hand so you can make plans for your kitty. So no worries.

You should mention that your kitty needs his meds. They may have access to trusted sources who can take care of that for you. It's really not uncommon for surgical patients to need this services. There's actual a practically endless list of needs that need caring for and lovely volunteers eager to help you out. In fact it's one of the things you are asked in long questionnaires you are interviewed from at Seattle's Virginia Mason Hospital. My experience was they were not as comprehensive at Harborview, but that's because their focus is on trauma, with Medivacs coming and going on multiple heli-vacs all day long. Harborview is most famous for that, as it is the number one trauma center in the Northwest. I had my intake at the University of Washington Medical Center. It was AWESOME.

However, I have read many posts about this, especially in those who crossed the border into Mexico to get a quicker surgery. For many it's a day trip, and they usually have the help of a companion. Laparoscopic surgery goes relatively quickly there. And it's cheap. The down side is that it's a snip-and-go industry with NO FOLLOW UP. Some doctors after return to the states are reluctant and refuse to touch it, with good reason. It's hard to follow the incisions and logic of the first doctor.
