Doing pre-surgical workup

Hi, I'm new to the group, decided a few weeks ago that the sleeve was right for me. Had enough of these obesity-related illnesses and meds. My tentative (fingers crossed) surgical date is August 5th. Trying to get everything prepared so I'm not rushing at the last minute. Have my pantry stocked with ready made and powder form shakes, have my hospital bag just about ready, and am looking forward to a positive change for myself. Thanks to everyone for posting their stories, it's always good to know what to be prepared for. Just need a pre-op medical clearance and I'm all set.

I am scheduled for August 5th also. Maybe we can help each other through this. I just got my mental health visit done today and they said I was good to go for that. Last visit with dietician is tomorrow.
Now it is the torture of just waiting for the date to get here. I am having the RNY though, not the sleeve.
Good luck with getting everything ready.

Congratulations, and welcome to our little group. If you will go out of this forum to the heading "What's New," scroll down to "Latest Resources," you will find a pre-surgical buying list created by one of our members, MamaBear. It's incredibly comprehensive and may help you with your own listings. In the meantime, good for you!
Thank you so much! That's exactly the kind of info I need :)

Thank you and ditto! It does seem like it's taking forever, I would do it next week if I could. How do you feel about it, are you nervous or excited?

I was very nervous but I think I am finally coming to grips with it.
Right now I am most worried about how much pain I will be in as I am also having a Hiatal Hernia repair.
I am nervous about the food too. I have bought protein shakes, SF jello, broth, protein supplements. I think it's when I get to puree that is freaking me out. I guess like most people, I think what am I going to be eating.
I am sure I will feel much better about that after I have my big pre-op class on July 16th. It's four hours so hopefully I will get a lot of info.

I was worried about the pain too, I have fibromyalgia and am super sensitive to it. But from what I've seen it's not really intolerable. I also use CBD oil, so I'm hoping that will help take the edge off it was well.
I'm not worried so much about the diet, I've been working towards changing my diet for awhile. I've tried the shakes I bought as a meal and they are filling enough. I found the Premier shakes are not bad, plus the Bariatric choice protein fruit drinks. I can't tolerate dairy so I need whey free products and there's not a lot of those.

Oh wow. I have another friend with fibromyalgia, it seems like it is a tough thing to live with. I hear a lot of good things about CBD oil but have not tried it myself.
I sure hope the drinks don't give me too much trouble, I sometimes have issues with milk as well.
