Esophagus Narrowing - can it correct itself

I had trouble eating and insisted my doctor do a scope, the scope was done by another doctor at the hospital whom after told me that the opening was too narrow and that's why I was having a hard time with food. She said that the other doctor would need to insert a balloon and expand it . At the follow up with my surgeon he said he wanted to leave it and it would expand on its own as I ate more, and instead prescribed anti vomiting medications. I have had many issues with this doctor and I am lacking trust in him now, I dont see how this problem will correct itself if I cant hold down food , how will it help fix the problem.

I need a second opinion or someone who knows is this even a viable solution !!

Your experience sounds very alarming. Make sure you see any specialist who can focus on your specific difficulty, whether it's your stomach or your esophagus, because you NEED actual medical assessment. Our experiences cannot be used to cure what's going on with you. If you're seeing a bariatric specialist, he or she should be able to refer you to appropriate medical professionals who can decisively help you.

But there's a real danger in seeing too many doctors. No doctor knows everything, and much of medicine comes from opinion based on medical fact, which often takes accuracy out of the equation. Medicine is science, but it also includes a great deal of art.

Best of juck.
