Fatigue

I am finding mine fatigue to just now be easing up. I had some trouble with getting enough calories in the first few weeks. Now that the swelling is gone I can eat a couple of ounces and feel much better. I was even able to walk 4 miles at the zoo with my grandson Saturday. Ahh life is good. Hang in there it will get better.

Best wishes
Sharon

Hi mom,

I really can't believe you are returning to work so soon after surgery. Have you had your three week checkup? I have hears of people trying it but usually in association with really bad out comes. Four to six weeks is normal with a doctor's Okay to return to work. If you have the option you should reconsider and take more time to heal and rest before returning to work. Anyway I wish you the best and hope your recovery goes well.

disappointed

I am so disappointed. It has only been 2 weeks and 2 days since my surgery and I have not lost anything this week. I have lost 15 lbs so far but I thought I would still be losing a lb a day. I am still walking but since I too went back to work this week (only after 2 weeks out) it was harder to get going on 2 days. I rejoined our works health park so I will not have any excuse not to work out. I am hoping this will make me lose again. I am not eating more than 2 ozs at a time and sipping the protein shots.

I'm so sorry! I'm in much the same spot - I had the surgery 9 days ago and expected to have lost more than I have so far - 9 lbs. I've been stalled since Monday. Intellectually I know that I shouldn't weigh myself daily, but I've invested a lot in this surgery being "the fix" for my weight issues. I have high hopes! Walking is more difficult with going back to work for me too...

Don't worry about how much you are losing at first. First off, both of you said you are getting more exercise, so you're turning fat into muscle, which means you're probably losing inches and not weight. Inches are as good as pounds. How are you clothes fitting? Try measuring yourself once a week to see if you're losing the inches. Secondly, until you start getting in your full amount of protein, your weight loss will be slower than expected, because the body needs the protein to lose the weight. Don't worry, you are just starting out, follow the DR and Nutritionists plan and you will lose the weight.
