Gastric Sleeve vs Lap Band

Had my first visit with the doctor. Went in thinking I wanted lap band but now am leaning towards gastric sleeve. Insurance will require me to be under a physician-directed diet for three months before I can have surgery so looking at probably September. If anyone has had the gastric sleeve, I would love to hear from them.

Hi Ellen, Welcome. I had the RnY but I hear a lot of good things about the sleeve, they both have a good success rate. Have you attended any support group meetings yet, my local support group in Medford has seperate meetings for band and bypass patients and the one here in Yreka has a combind meeting, those are great plases for some good feedback and to see the surgery at work.
