Hair

Im 6 days post op. Started noticing at day four I’m losing hair. A lot. I have long hair so I’m trippen. I’m taking my vitamins and upped my biotin. Anyone else experience this?
There are a lot of posts on here about hair loss. I’ve never heard of it happening that quick though! Perhaps it’s down to shock, your bodies response to surgery? Mine is completely back to normal, just over 2 years out, and I lost a lot. I use olaplex shampoo and conditioner and take biotin, it works for me. Try not to worry.

We were just told that hair loss happens around month 3 and can last for several months. I already had thinning hair from having 3 babies so this really was the least of my worries. Protein will help so make sure to get that in as soon as you are cleared. Best wishes to you!

My hair started falling out preop. I was expecting that, as every time I start losing weight, I start losing hair.

I am fortunate to have a lot of hair that is naturally curly, so I think I notice it more than anyone. I can feel that it is thinner, and doesn't curl as much.

I am guessing I will lose substantially more after surgery. It has always grown back in the past, so I hope that it does again. If it doesn't, I'm going to be a lost cause, because it has always been my best feature!

Instead of OMG you've lost so much weight, I will hear OMG what happened to your hair? I will just have to say I had it removed with most of my stomach.

Mines coming out in handfuls when I wash it - I’m almost glad it started so I can hurry up and get it over with lol! Trying to keep up my protein, taking biotin, and using extra conditioner so I do have to pull at it so hard with my comb. My hair is thick and long, I have thought about cutting it shorter after summer just to give it more body. Try not to worry, it’s alarming to see but totally normal!
