Happy Thanksgiving

I hope tomorrow everyone has a happy thanksgiving. I am beyond thankful for this group of people. Thank you for support, laughs, recipes, advice, and friendship.

I know being around so much food this holiday will be stressful for most of us - those still navigating this new way of living and others waiting for surgery. I am going to focus on the people and drinking lots of water. And enjoy only my very favorite foods - really make each bite count! Will be thinking of this amazing group. Much love!

So thankful for this group!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I certainly did. I had my son, his g/f and my mother-in-law over. I decided this year that really, thanksgiving has the potential to be the easiest holiday to make a healthy menu. Turkey is pretty much the ideal bariatric patient food. It's lean and high in protein. So, with the exception of the cake (no one can agree on a pie flavor!) we had a very healthy meal.

I was super proud of myself for not over indulging and not eating until i was miserable. Listening to my body tell me its full has been a good change for myself mentally, and yesterday i did just that. Plus all the yummy food its hard not to want to eat it all. LOL, i hope everyone had a great holiday!

We've been eating on several donated Thanksgiving dinners, plus we still have leftovers, thanks to the blessings of some kind community groups.

I have stayed completely away from the rolls & butter, enjoyed some dressing & mashed potatoes, and had my little stomach's fill of turkey & gravy, and green beans w/o butter. Limited carbs, and I'll be right back on track in a few days. Oh, and I had some pumpkin pie but no crust. That's how I've always enjoyed my pumpkin pie, eating the pumpkin & leaving the crust.

Hope y'all enjoyed your Thanksgiving. ❤❤❤❤
