I went through a hard period, let my guard down and gained weight. After enjoying way too many carbs and slider foods, I have gained weight back. By the grace of God, not as much as I lost but a large amount.

I am determined to get this under control. I have joined a group for accountability and I'm seeing a counselor now as well.

Glad you decided to seek help for yourself. :) Weight loss surgery is a powerful tool but it still takes work to keep the weight under control as you already know.

I have given myself a 5 lb gain limit and refuse to allow any weight gain past that limit. The whole world stops until that 5 lb is gone again. I tend to have some water fluid retention at times, and this can affect my weight somewhat. While losing most of the weight I have lost, I mainly ate meat, fish, green beans, stewed tomatoes, eggs, and salad. (and of course I never miss my vitamins and supplements) This diet was very low in carbs and fat and worked well for me. For a year I ate this diet and dropped my weight pretty fast. After a year I started eating more of a variety of foods including a good amount of fruit and my weight loss has slowed to just a few pounds a month. I have decided to go back to my first year menu to drop off more weight at a faster pace. The diet I'm eating now would be a great maintenance diet for me long term.

You also lost a considerable amount of weight but you gained some back. My suggestion is to go back to your diet that you first lost your weight on. You know how to lose weight, you did it successfully already. The trick is to stay motivated and accountable to yourself.

I also need a kick start right now as I have come to love and rely on my grapes, oranges, apples, etc. And although I'm still losing very slowly, I really want to lose at least another 30 or 40 pounds and be where I want to be and then I can go on my maintenance diet and eat my fruit. Maybe we can help each other stay on track.

Good luck to you,

Cheyenne
