Had gastric bypass in January of 2000. Weight then was 230…I’m 5’2”. List over 95lbs. Weight leveled out at 145. Size 10. Was perfect for me. Now in the last 5 years I’ve been increasing gaining weight. Haven’t changed anything. Except went through menopause. So now I’m at 177 lbs and I hate it. I want to lose the extra weight but everything I’ve tried hasn’t worked. Diet, fasting, counting calories and Wegovy. Which gave me pancreatitis but didn’t help me lose any weight. So I’m stuck and not knowing what to do.

I'm glad you found this group, welcome!

You are not alone in post surgery weight gain. This site has many posts from people who had a successful surgery, maintained their weight loss for years but then something changed for them and the weight started coming back. The great thing about this group is that it creates a place where long-term challenges are discussed as openly as the first-year victories.

I would encourage a visit with a bariatric dietitian and possibly an endocrinologist if you haven't already. Menopause can significantly affect body composition, metabolism, hunger signals, sleep, where weight is stored, and sometimes what worked before simply doesn't work the same anymore. Please don't discount the success you had. You spent 20 years maintaining a major weight loss, and that's something to be proud of, even while you're looking for solutions to the recent regain.
