I had my surgery July 7th and so far I feel I'm doing good. The soreness is getting better. The secret that seems to help me is pay attention to your body. I noticed I get a snack hiccup in my stomach when I need to quit. All it takes is one hiccup! I'm excited to be on this new journey. I weighed in at 249 on Tuesday before surgery and now Saturday after surgery I'm down to 244.

I am supposed to have gastric bypass surgery in early August. How long would you say you needed assistance after surgery?

I needed the most help for 3-4 days post surgery and I didn't drive for about 2 weeks. I was also on lifting restrictions of 10 lbs for 2 months and slept in my recliner for the first week because it was so much easier to get in and out of than the bed. The hardest part was to remember to move slowly because I tend to rush through things and when I started to feel better I would do too much and wear myself out. Just take it slow, plan ahead and know that some things won't get done when you want them to because you need to take it easy.
