Hey my name is Tasha I just got my surgery date for May 11th I have always been a bigger girl, and I have tried every diet there is to try out there. When I tried the keto diet it seemed to be working but then I gained half of the weight I lost back. now I am going to have the gastric bypass surgery on may 11th, and I was hoping that you guys would share some of your stories with me and how successful it was for you to have the surgery.

Hi Tasha, congrats on your upcoming surgery! I had the gastric bypass on Dec 16, 2019. In addition to weight loss, you'll have surprising Non-Scale Victories. For example, I've since been taken off all diabetic meds, I have more energy, sleep apnea has improved, I can handle stressful situations better, and my wide calf boots are loose! I didn't tell any of my coworkers about surgery but the noticed I'm doing portion control and no sugar so they've been inspired to make better food choices. Enjoy your journey to a healthier version of you!

My 1 year anniversary from surgery will be March 11th. I'm down 137 pounds and am at my ideal weight for my height and body structure. I was taken off my diabetes medications even before surgery (with my pre-op weight loss). No more high blood pressure either. Life is so much different and my outlook on everything is so much more positive. Welcome to the group!
