Hi everybody, new here and my surgery date is 5/7/2012. I'm so excited. It's been 7 mos. since I made my decision to do this. Thought it would never get here. I live alone and am going to need lots of support.:)
 
Thats great, how has your journey been so far? My insurance company didn't require a waiting period but the prosses still took about 3 months with all the tests and authorizations. If you have any questions or concernes there are plenty of great folks here to help you out. Do you also have a local support group? I am 2 years out and I still attend 1 a month unless I am away on work. Let us know how you are doing. :cool: Tom
 
Welcome to the forum. You're at the right place for support. Lot's of knowledgable and friendly people here. I'm also from MI, metro Detroit area. Where are you having your surgery?
 
My journey has been slo w to me. Nobody told me it would take so long. Yes I have a local support group that I go to once a month. They have been a big help.

I"m having my surgery at Sparrow Hospital, I am going to the Sparrow Weight Management Center. I am so excited.

you'll find lots of friendly people here ready to share there stories and answer your questions, I too am hoping to get my surgery in May, did all the testing etc. just waiting for surgeon and insurance to do there part,.
