Hiatal hernia post surgery

Has anyone had hiatal hernia surgery after gastric bypass surgery?

I had an appendectomy 6 weeks ago. The cat scan showed a large hiatal hernia. Did a barium swallow test and the Dr. said my pouch and part of my esophagus were above my diaphragm. He said repair would be very difficult because of the gastric bypass surgery. Gave me a referral to a gastroenterologist for an EDG and possible dilation.

Hi Abby I had a hiatal hernia done the same time as my gastric bypass with no problems.
