Hey everyone I want to share an article that I found where researchers looked at hormonal changes in men before and after having bariatric surgery. Sorry that it doesn't address women but even though you can't extrapolate directly the changes in men to potential changes in women I'm sure that there are some changes in women but they are probably different changes. I'm attaching the PDF file of the article to this post. I checked my hormone levels around 6 weeks post op because of low energy levels and well... I was feeling dead below the waist. I found that I had the same results as what this article describes. The good news is that at around 6 months post op thing begin to normalize and hormone levels actually get better than pre-op levels. My BMI pre-op wasn't nearly as high as the subjects of the study but The effects of the surgery were similar.
I hope that you find this helpful.

Glad you brought up the subject. I've got my annual check-up in a few weeks. I'll ask about hormones.
