How is everyone?

It’s been kind of quiet here lately. I hope that means everyone has been doing good. Me, not so good. Halloween candy has been my down fall. We had a ton of candy and no trick or treaters. The candy was too tempting for my very sad mood. Thank goodness I finally convinced my husband to take it to his students today. After last night my mood should be lifting too. I saw my husband’s church choir for the first time since I had surgery. I had so many compliments and so many people said they almost didn’t recognize me. That felt so good. As a friend said, it makes the surgery worth it. Now, to get back on track and get these last 55# off. o_O
 
I ate a couple pieces of candy. They were just screaming at me! Had to eat em just to shut em up! Lol
 
I totally attempted this! I had a miniature chocolate cause well yeah, they scream at you o_O It didn't work though, still can't do sugar and I was sick for awhile afterwards. *Sigh* Anyway, it has been a bit rough here! Stomach bugs and strep throat are going around like crazy here and I picked up a bit of each. First time I've been ill since surgery and it is terrible. Ugh. I totally don't recommend it. Talk about HARD to get daily protein! Okay, done griping for the day...I'm still blessed and thankful :) And totally glad I wasn't alone in the boat of temptation. *whew* Your right Christine, time to get back on track. :)

So sorry you gave in to the sugar temptation and got sick, Pixx. Not fun! Even worse that you got sick from the normal evil ills of life. :( I hope you are feeling better!
 
I wish I could get sick from eating sugar, I do get a belly ache sometimes when I eat it, but that is not enough to remind me next time that it may happen again, I wish I never ate that first piece way back when, I think if I didn't I wouldn't be sitting here hungry and craving something sweet, hot tea worked back in the day but not now, my group session I was going to said that craving only last 15 minutes, im not so sure about that, but sitting here talking to all of you is helping, I need you all more than I ever thought, I think you will be seeing me alot more now, I just realized that helping others will help me, thanks for listening to me ramble on and on
 
I am with you on the craving thing...15 minutes sounds a lot shorter than what actually happens! Glad you'll be back more, you have been missed!
 
I've been posting my progress but seldom my failures. I too have given in to the sugar. Mainly because I need the stuff. But also because I like it. My stomach doesn't give me gripes about it. The only good thing I have with eating is being able to tell when I am done. The issue I have is not following the 30/30/30 rule. I like to wash a bite down from time to time, ya know? So it's possible that I may have to reset. The other health issues which have nothing to do with the weight loss (as far I know) are making it hard to get the exercises in. Menieres disease is the newest on the list but I can take off cholesterol. We all are going through hardship but I remind myself that it is temporary, I will get through this and the next. I don't like going through it, would rather go around. But endurance is something I can get more of. I don't think ya'll ramble. Type away. I appreciate every one of you and what you have to say.
 
I'm sorry to say I've been "hiding" from here. I fell off my "diet wagon" in a real bad way starting just before Thanksgiving up until now. It wasn't just the holiday, but suddenly lots of things went wrong. The heat stopped working, my phone broke, my boss decided to start picking apart everything I was doing, and so on..
I guess I fell back into emotional eating to make myself feel better. Only it didn't work. Not a surprise, though. Fortunately, I only gained a pound, but right now I am in the race to show my insurance company that I can lose weight so they will approve my WLS. It makes me feel like such a failure...which of course, makes me want to eat...and so on and so on...I'm feeling like I won't be able to do this...:(

You can do this, one day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time, the holidays are the worst. You are stronger than you think. I stopped coming to this site and didn't realize I need these people, it didn't work so now I'm back to help you all and to help myself. You got this and we are here to help

We are not perfect, we all stumbled and fell, but we have each other to lean on
 
Thanks for the support. I made it through 36 hours so far eating better and I'm only going to work at it 1 hour at a time! You're right, Tracy. That's a less overwhelming way to look at things than saying I have to lose 5 lbs by my next appointment on 12/21. :)

Great, keep it up and if you get the munchies, just come on over to this site and focus on all the good things going on and it will take your mind off of it, craving are only supposed to last 15 minutes, if that helps any lol

I was just catching up on all the posts and I was reading through things on a previous thread, wondering how you were doing and then I came to this thread and your back! That's awesome! :) I totally agree with Tracy on the support...still not convinced on the craving thing, seems like they last forever! :p Anyway, stalk the pages, distract yourself :) We love having you here! I hope those 5 lbs. go running for the hills!
 
15 minutes is all it last for those cravings, lol if course you have to factor in the different time zones, and whether or not it is daylight savings time, the temperature outside, but they do ago away eventually, and whatever you do don't watch the clock lol, good luck
