How is everyone?

Hey guys! I missed you all these past couple of months! Life has gotten just slightly crazy since I was last on here. A quick update on me: I didn't end up making it to Denver to stay with my sister and her family. We were too scared of me getting on a plane at the start of the pandemic and then being around my newborn nephew and 2 year old niece. It was a heartbreak because I was looking forward to it, but I got over it ;). I was working from home like most of the world was, but was let go from my position last week. I allowed myself one day to wallow in it (I worked with an AMAZING group of people and will miss them deeply) but now I am back to my normal self. I keep reminding myself that I am valuable, talented worker with lots of drive and determination. I will find a new position eventually. Luckily, I'm not alone in this and that is such a comfort oddly enough. The rest of the world/country is going through this with me and my situation isn't nearly as bad as some. I've got a couple of interviews lined up for this coming week so fingers crossed!

I have kept to the good habits I have learned since my surgery last September and just this past week started increasing my workouts since I have all the time in the world now, lol. I am still at my plateau, but I know the scale will start moving again one of these days (not going to lie, it would be wonderful if that day were today though!).

How are all of you doing? I will slowly be working my way through everything I have missed while I was away but would love a quick update from everyone! I hope you all still have high spirits and are finding ways to entertain yourselves during our stay-at-home time. Me, I just built a fort last night and am currently sitting in it while checking out a few posts :). I even decorated it with a couple of strands of blue Christmas lights to make it a little more magical. I look forward to hearing from you all!

Good morning, Miss Darmitage! It is good to see you. I love the fort idea.

A very large group of us got really tired of staying home. This is prime car show season before the heat of the season hits but those are tabu. So, yesterday we all met up at a large parking lot and drove I-40 to Seligman AZ. We stopped at a local eatery, set up our chairs 6-10 feet apart, got our take-out lunch and sat in the breeze and sunshine and visited. I kind of stopped counting at 35 classic cars. It was wonderful. It was safe. It probably was against our governor's edict but we all needed it. Some of us had to drive 2 hours just to get there so we all had a great ride on 40 in the wide-open spaces of Arizona.

Hey Miss - you should have seen the smile on my face when I saw you posted! :) It's great to hear from you, you've been missed.

I'm sorry the virus interfered with your big plans to go to Denver. And I'm also sorry to hear about your position. You seem to be all taking it in stride, which is wonderful and typical of the woman I've come to know. :) And you're totally right that you offer a ton of value and some lucky employer will benefit from finding you in the near future.

Things are going well here. My recovery is going well and the NY lock-down had me start back to work after I was cleared for that. So it's been about a month of working from home here.

Many of our pre-op members had their surgeries put on hold, which has been a big topic, you'll find. Totally disappointing no matter how necessary. Anyway, I won't steal too much of your time since I'm sure there's so many people going to be reaching out to you. I just wanted to send hugs and my love and welcome you back. :)

That sounds like such fun! There is always a way to keep up the social distancing and have a good time. We have several neighbors that we will all bring our own chairs and sit around the yard, at least six feet apart and enjoy each other's company for a bit. It is nice to have that sense of community to turn to even in the hard times. I hope things start getting better in Arizona! Indiana started opening back up today. While today was the official day, I noticed yesterday that the roads were so much busier than I have been used to lately. Unfortunately when I went to the grocery store, people took the reopening to mean masks and social distancing were no longer necessary. I had a lady reach right in front of me and brush against me.... and she wasn't wearing a mask! Freaked me out and only makes me sad because it makes me think we will have to shut down again soon because the outbreak will get worse with habits like that. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen but I'm not holding my breath.

Thank you for the warm welcome! I have missed you all too! I'm glad you are back to work, even if it is working from home. At least that keeps your mind busier than it was during your initial recovery period. And I'm so grateful your employer is allowing you to work from home and not have to brave the mad world we live in.

It really has to suck to have these surgeries put on hold. I hope everyone is remaining hopeful for the future surgery and trying to keep their spirits up in any way they can. While this is a set back no one saw coming, it doesn't mean it is the end. I know everyone where get to where they want to be sooner or later. But my heart is going out to everyone for all of the struggles they are feeling. I want nothing but the best for everyone here. You are all amazing and deserve it!

Yikes, that's scary as hell that some people are thinking it's "over". Damn, sorry not only was your space invaded, but that you were actually physically touched! I don't know how I would have responded calmly to that.
