I will always remember the nurse who brought me ice chips this morning. I hadn't had anything at all since 4:30 yesterday morning.

My new arrangement has not been tested yet, but no nausea or uncontrollable pain. Sore. That's all.

I was thinking about you this morning, remembering you had your surgery yesterday. This is kind of a slow forum, so the ones who do actually engage catch my attention. It is great to know you are doing well, best of luck with your ongoing recovery.

Glad to hear you are feeling well. Congrats on reaching the other side. I made protein ice pops for my husband using isopure tropical protein powder and pina colada drink mix. This might be an option for you if you're finding ice to be soothing for your throat/stomach. OR warm water with a bit of jello powder is also very soothing.

Keep us posted!

Currently, I am spiking my PowerAde with protein powder. I'm looking forward to trying some fuller liquids tomorrow, since there will be lots more choices about how to get the protein into me. This morning, before noon, I got down 28 oz of PowerAde with about 25g of protein. With the vitamins I'm taking, I should be hitting all the marks the dietitians set for me. Even though I'm still sore, I got good sleep last night and this morning. I don't know what I expected, like there would be a huge change in my insides or something, but everything seems to be working as before. I haven't been sick, I've kept it all down. I think that, so far, this is as good as one could hope for.

Moved on to fuller liquids this morning. Had a chocolate protein pudding pop (yum!) which is about 5g of protein. Then an Ensure plant protein chocolate shake. 20g protein. It will be much easier to get the protein in now, I think. But, boy, am I gurgling this morning! I will try a 30g protein shake for lunch, and that will be milk-based. We'll see how I handle that. Baby steps.

Moving along nicely! keep it up
