Day 3 post op!!! Still in hospital. Pain has been unbearable. Woke this morning at 5am, last night I actually slept. Pain everpresent but able to go for a walk this morning and no pain meds yet today. Sleepy now so I may take a nap. No hunger. Diet is clear/full liquid. Focussing on water for now so I can get up on outa here!

Gratz on being 3 days post op. The full liquid is hard I know but a trick that I found that worked to get more water and that made water more tolerable is get flavor drops and add them to your water then it is not so boring. Great job and you can do it

I'm feeling much better, thank you for asking! I'm already "in the mood" to eat certain things that I used to while watching movies, I'm not naming any names... That would be the head hunger that will take training to go away!
I'm still quite swollen and I hope that goes away soon.
My blood sugars haven't gone down yet, they have been 147, 137, 148 the three days I have been home. I'm taking metformin still, by crushing. In the hospital my sugars were over 200 so it is getting better.
Does this new routine start to feel normal?

In my 7 years it took a while. However the good news is yes it does get better and normal the best way not to think about it is try new things or do things like arts and crafts, write a book just do something fun for you that you look forward too each day and remember we are with you it might be in spirit but you can talk to us anytime even if you talking out loud in the middle of the room that helps too i did it all the time.

The longer you do it the more of a normal routine it is. I never though back in 2015 that I would ever be able to give up soda all together but as of 3 years I have not had a soda at all. And for this whole year I drink water mainly. After I get all my water in I try to drink gatorade zero but that is to sweet to me. It is said that it takes at least 30 days to make a new habit stick but it takes longer to make it normal. Keep working on it and sooner or later you will see that the change of what you did before to the new you. I am happy for the changes that is going to happen. And I am so proud of you. Because we have had some of our newer people that just went through the surgery barely get on. You are getting on and communicating with us still. We will be your support no matter what.

Everyday gets easier! You feel better with each passing day and you find a new normal. It’s been 3 months since my surgery and it’s already hard to remember the struggle. I was feeling pretty awesome at an amusement/water park last weekend, wearing a swimsuit and riding rides with my family!
