Its time.

The morning of the surgery. I'm felling excited and nervous. Been up running back and forth to the bathroom all night. Hear is my before picture.
Good luck and please keep us posted! See you on the other side. :) 2020 here you come!

Thank you. Already checked in. Wating to go to pre op now
How exciting! Try to relax, it'll be over before you know it. We wish you a speedy recovery. Which surgery are you having, RNY, sleeve? As you're in the hospital, maybe you can take notes on your experience to post later? We love seeing the process through new eyes.

Drink what you can and keep at it! It will get easier. Did they give you fluids for the dehydration? I hope the meds are easy for you to take and that it goes well from here.

I don't recall if I heard this story here or somewhere else, but one woman related that after she had VSG and was released, her first stop was a drive-thru, where she bought a big greasy cheeseburger & wolfed it down. That is the most foolish thing anyone can do, but she didn't become morbidly obese by being wise and healthy.

I can't even imagine being in the mindset to test your fragile pouch like that! Like an addict to a needle. Sigh... I hope she is still alive.

she didn't die from eating that cheeseburger, but as I recall, bragged about it. Dunno if she had future problems but yeah, only an addict would do that, and a self-destructive one, at that.
When I was taking classes for the surgery we had a surgeon visit us she said a man had gastric bypass surgery and the day after ate a burrito. He stayed in the hospital for almost a year .

God damn! And if they're doing this on the first day out, can you imagine what they're doing to their poor stomachs in the weeks that follow?

I haven't ate anything in 4 days. Trying again this morning. But I haven't been losing weight either
What is your surgeon saying? Drinking is the most important thing at this point. My surgeon said if there's a choice, to drink rather than eat.

Your body is probably in starvation mode. If you aren't getting any nutrients in, it wants to hold onto whatever it can to help sustain you in the long run. Once you start eating and then becoming active, you should see that start to move.
