January 5, 2022 - Surgery Date

Hi, everyone! I am so excited to have my surgery date - January 5th. I'm. having the gastric bypass and I am so nervous. I have been on the liver shrinking diet since 12/18. I've been scanning this site for tips for success as well as experiences. If you would, please share your experience and any words of wisdom. I am so appreciative of this group!

Welcome!! Your date is so soon!! That’s awesome. My advice is have an abdominal binder ready, take lots of sips of water often, walk as soon as you’re allowed, and do not step on the scale for a while-like a couple weeks. A lot of us left the hospital weighing more than when we went in and it can be discouraging. But it’s completely normal to gain weight with all the water they pump in us. Good luck!!
