Hi, I'm a new kid on the block. So happy to find a support group online as my job doesn't allow me to go to regular meetings due to crazy hours. I have a nurse from my insurance company that's working with me. I'm eating smaller amounts, learning to take smaller bites, chewing longer, and putting my fork down for a few minutes before I take another bite of food. I'm also working on drinking enough water, and learning to sip instead of gulping it down. I'm really excited about this journey, I just want to feel better, take weight off my joints, and hopefully this will help my asthma. I'm ready to get healthy!

Welcome Laurie and congratulations on being well on your way to the new you!!! I'm glad your nurse is having you start all the new practices before surgery, that should help you a lot. Have you decided which surgery you'll have? Everyone here is very supportive and open, we can't wait to hear more about your journey!

Welcome to the group Laurie! It sounds like you are making the right changes to start you on this journey. Just keep making them a few at a time until they are habit and then you won't have to think twice about it as you continue your journey :) Good luck with everything and keep us posted on your progress!
