Welcome to the group. I am actually a newbie also. I just now registered. I am scheduled for surgery on 5/31/12. My journey began in October, 2011. The hospital where I am having surgery, makes each candidate of WLS to go through 6 months of clases, medical appointments, support groups, meeting with nutrition experts etc. Finally I got to see the surgeon and a date has been set. I had to go through more medical testing than normal because of my age. Saw a cardiologist and a lung doctor. They gave me the go-ahead. I am somewhat apprehensive about the 2 week liquid diet which I begin on 5/17. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. I am somewhat overwhelmed with all the high protein drinks out there and almost did not know where to begin., Any suggestions? Thanks.

Welcome sazzy! I just had the sleeve on 4/24 I'm thrilled with the decision I made to do this. I'm 12 days out and 20 lbs down, I honestly didn't expect much that quick. It's exciting and a new learning experience. People here have been so great to answer questions even if you think it's a dumb question :) Good luck!

Lori
