Leg Cramps

Is anyone experiencing leg cramps at night? I get horrible leg cramps in my shins every night around 03:30 that wake me up and the only relief I get is by walking around a bit. Other than that I sleep like a log. I am even able to sleep on my back now.

Sometimes this symptom can be caused by walking down holds. If you are exercising especially walking down hills make sure you put your heel down first. If it isn’t something simple you can fix, check in with a doctor.

Oh yes!!! Between 2:30 and 3:30am for sure. I found a natural solution. Pickle juice. My Wal-Mart sells little shot size plastic bottles of it that store unrefridgerated so I can keep them handy. When I drink one it usually helps them go away in 5 minutes. :)

Overuse of a muscle, dehydration, muscle strain or simply holding a position for a prolonged period can causea muscle cramp. In many cases, however, the causeisn't known. Although mostmuscle cramps are harmless, some may be related to an underlying medical condition, such as: Inadequate blood supply.
Yup, that is me also. Vascular surgeon said surgery on my bad leg veins would only give me about 20% relief. Oted to work on weigh loss instead.

Thanks for the advice but if I walk around for a few minutes they go away also. part of what may be causing them may be sleeping better and therefore holding the same position for such a long period of time.
