lost a little to much

Hi this is my first post. my surgery was 9 years ago and I have kept the weight off. I have read serveral post about regaining the weight but not much on the fact that I continue to loose. I lost my doctor to a heart attack shortly after my first year, now I see an internal medicine doctor. My biggest question now is HOW DO I GAIN WEIGHT?? if anyone can help I would be most appreciative.

I've been dealing with the same issue for the past few years, I'm 13 years post-op. I have been trying to gain weight for over 3 years now. I've had months where I'd eat over 4000 calories daily only to barely maintain my tiny self. My goal weight is 175, I'm 5'8" and I have severe digestive pain when I'm under 165 pounds. I'm still working on the issue myself, I don't have a great answer except to listen to your body and educate yourself on your differences in anatomy now post surgery. I've seen 2 bariatric surgeons and both told me to cut carbs, but if I do what they tell me I lose weight REALLY fast. Do what actually works for your body as it is today.

To stay active I will walk or do yoga and other stretching, but I absolutely CANNOT do any cardio or really exert myself during physical activity. It took me a long time to lessen my activity level because I worked so hard to be able to be small enough to want to exercise. I love running and other work outs, but I lose way too much weight if I do any real calorie burning. I have to accept where I am today, and at least I have yoga.

I was diagnosed with a rare hypoglycemia issue as a non-diabetic, it's a side effect of the RNY surgery I had. If you are a non-diabetic, I recommend testing your blood sugar about 1 hour after a meal if you ever feel light headed or especially tired after eating. It often takes years of symptoms to be noticed, and it's incredibly rare so easily misdiagnosed. I know the issue started by 2015 if not earlier, but I had no idea until August 2018. I also have a motility issue that I'm working on getting a diagnosis for currently.

I'd love to chat privately to problem solve together!
