Lost after surgery

Hi All,

Foremost, thank you for having a support group! I'm concerned because I've only lost 13 pounds since my surgery Aug 17th. I seem to be hungry all the time and can pretty much eat anything just in very small portions. A bleeding ulcer was discovered two days after the surgery that landed me in the hospital for two days but otherwise no other complications. The place I went thru has closed and so I really don't have a place or people to consult. A few questions: Should I be losing more weight? How much should I be consuming in a meal? Why do I always seem to be hungry? Why do I feel so weak and winded? I'm taking iron, biotin, B12, potassium, calcium w/ vitamin D, vitamin C, Omega 3 multi vitamin gummies. My BM's are like once per week...is this all normal?
 
Hello Paula! Congratulations on getting the surgery done! I know this must be a big step in your life and not any easy one to make. I hope that you can find the advice and support that you need here on this forum. Are you still on a liquid diet? Or at the very least a soft diet? Drink lots of water, it helps the hunger. I lost about 5# a week for the first couple of months. But I was never hungry. 6.5 years later I am still rarely hungry.
