Lots to lose, more to gain

Hi there. This is my first/intro post. I’m a 40 yr old woman in IL, single mom, taking my first steps to gastric sleeve. I’m excited but also very nervous, as I’m sure many of us newbies are. I reached my highest weight this fall after having a hysterectomy. I’m currently about 350 pounds, 5’5. I lost about 40 lbs last summer on WW but gained it all back and then some when divorce turned my life upside down and I backslid into bad habits.

I have had my initial consultation, my first nutritionist visit, and have labs/X-rays/EKG/etc scheduled. Sleep study in February (I know I have OSA, I was diagnosed about 10 years ago but was compliant with the Cpap at that time) and waiting for psych eval appt. Looking at a surgery date possibly late February/early to mid March.

I have so many thoughts and questions so I figured this would be a good place to start.

Hello, Krissy and welcome to the group. I love the title of your post! It is so true and conveys that you have a positive attitude about the journey that you've started. It can be a bit overwhelming, especially in the beginning so feel free to either use the search for answers or just ask; we're always happy to help.

Welcome I am in IL too think central from north to south and then think the farthest west you can go. There is where you will find me. This is a good place for support and questions. Many good people here, with a lot of experience and good kind spirits. May your journey be successful and an adventure.
