Lovenox Injections

Hello everyone! I will be on lovenox (bloodthinner) injections for 10-14 days post surgery. How did it feel? Some places said it burns like the dickens hahaha. Let me know your experience please!

I had lovenox shots after I was in an accident and had to be in a wheel chair for awhile. The needles are tiny and I had zero pain at the injection site. You will have some stomach bruising, but that’s the nature of blood thinners. After my husband did the first injection I was able to do them on my own without any trouble.

They weren't bad, but I wasn't prepared for them. No one had mentioned them to me until it was time for discharge and I was told I would need to take them for 2 weeks. I think I would have handled it much better if I had known before surgery and mentally prepared.

yikes that would be super stressful! Especially when they are already giving you so much new information AND you've just been cut open!

I only had them twice a day while in the hospital. I had them in the back (fatty part) of my arm. It was just like any other needle, a quick pinch. But I did have knots for about a week where I was stuck.

Whoa knots?! Like like lumps? Were they bruised or painful? That's interesting.

Just a small knot but in each spot, so I felt 4 knots. I only noticed because when I got home I was scratching my arm and noticed the knots and realized it had to be from the shots. Not painful and no bruises.

I didn't find them to be horrible once I got over my nervousness of doing this myself.
