Measure or weigh portions?

I do a combination of both, really depends what the food is. However a lot of food can be converted. For example, I will google how many calories in a particular item and some of the results will allow you to chose how you are measuring - cups or ounces.

Is anyone here using the kind of scale that calculates the calories in food? Here is an example: Mackie Food Scale
I am curious if they are any good.
 
I weigh everything, even wet. I have a food scale that you can clear of the weight of your plate/bowl/cup. So I clear it and then add whatever, wet or dry. 4 oz is a half cup all day long. I am too likely to end up with a "heaping" half cup.
