Med alert bracelet

I got a packet of new information emailed to me today, and one of the things suggested was obtaining a medical alert bracelet. That never occurred to me. It said it should include: bariatric surgery, no blind NG tube, fluid capacity 60cc or less, no NSAIDS. Did anyone else get one because of surgery? I guess I’ll look into it and see how much they cost.

I never considered this so I'm glad you mentioned it. I'll look into it for sure.

I'm right there with you Brenda. Never considered it before. BTW.... how are you?!? You look AMAZING in your photo!
Thank you so much for your compliment Miss. It's been one hell of a few months but I feel pretty good. I would say around week 4 I turned a big corner. I think you were still around in February to see all my gruesome post-op photos. ;) Haven't posted more because I still don't have the pic aspect of this site figured out. But I promise to soon.

I had my 12 week tele-appointment with my surgeon last week and was given the all clear to exercise as I wish. I feel a bit of pressure from that because my muscles have atrophied so much in 12 weeks. But I just need to get my head together and focus to start up activity again.

Other than that, just living in this new world and getting used to working from home. First with recovery and now with COVID, my normal routine literally stopped on January 31st. But I've still lost a few pounds since surgery. According to my surgeon, I'm allowed up to 10 lbs in either direction so I'm not worried that I'll loose much more. Wearing a size 10 jeans and size 8 dress at 5'6" is just perfect for my shape. :) I've done better than I'd ever expected to.

The muscle atrophy would be a big deterrent and scary thing. Just remember, you don't have to go all in all at once. Start with five crunches, five pushups, and 5 squats. Maybe do that twice a day and just get the muscles moved up and moving and then slowly move up in amounts. Take it a little at a time and it won't seem nearly so intimidating.

I am so PROUD of you! You have worked so hard and gone through so much to get where you are. You are truly inspirational :)

That's great advice, like most of us who struggle with weight, we tend to be all-or-nothing people. So being reminded that I can start slow like that was needed. :)

Good morning. I never felt the need to get one. But now with all the COVID patients not being able to have family visit in the hospital to advocate for them, I finally got one. I ordered from Amazon. It is nice - I don't have to take it off to shower. You can customize for wrist size too. I can't attach the link but here is the description - MOWOM Medical Alert Bracelet Stainless Steel
