Metallic taste

Have you tried adding other things or flavorings to the protein shakes? (Flavored squirts to vanilla. PB powder, coconut/almond/mint etc. extract to chocolate) I am not sure how else to get protein during the liquid phase w/o protein shakes. Unless you add protein to puddings/soups.
 
I scored Orange and Raspberry extracts yesterday for my vanilla and chocolate shake mix! Also this morning I put a little instant decaf coffee in my shake! These help a lot! Now if I could just find a nacho extract! :D

But seriously, these shakes and bars are sicky sweet. I get one serving of chicken protein soup a day and I'm craving salt. I use chicken broth to get through these times, but wonder if I need some mineral or something because I crave salt so much.
 
That is a good question. I like salt A LOT more than I did pre surgery. Like A LOT. I never added salt to anything before, now I salt almost everything.
I am the exact opposite. I always added a huge amount of salt to my meals and since surgery I don’t use it at all! Isn’t it strange?
