New. Gastric Bypass

Hi All,
I am scheduled for GB on 12/7/20. I am nervous, but excited. I am ready to change my life. Have 80 lbs to lose and am type II. Hoping for all around good health after this weight comes off. I am ready for the journey!

Hi Elise - welcome to the group and Congratulations on getting your surgery date!

It's truly a wonderful adventure! I was also type ll diabetic prior to surgery - and I've lost 80+ pounds so far. I had RNY 1/22/2020 and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made!

You may want to browse through the other threads/posts - they're absolutely full of support - understanding - information - advice - recipes for the various stages of recovery. It's a wonderful group to be a part of!

Let your new life journey begin!!

Hi, Eloise. I had the GB in June for exactly those reasons. I also was type ll diabetic and had/have a goal of 80lbs. I'm down now about 70 (thinking of adjusting my goal) and most importantly am completely off my diabetic meds, with a normal A1C. I could not have done it without the surgery. And this group and saved my sanity. Every time I think I've messed up, or it's just me having an issue, they are here to reel me back in and let me know it's just a normal part of the process. Welcome.
