My Roux-Y Gastric Bypass will be on Feb 15th at Barnes Hospital in Saint Louis, MO. However, my surgeon wants a pre-surgical trache put in and that is scheduled for Jan 26th. I have PFT's (Pulmonary Function Tests), see the ENT, have all my pre-surgical testing/physical done & meet with my surgeon's Nurse on Jan 25th from 8am - 4:30pm. I wasn't nervous until the ENT's scheduler called to give me the date my trache would be put in! Wow, it's all coming together... The bad part is I have to travel back home after the trache is put in and go back to St. Louis on Feb 14th for surgery on the 15th. We live in Southeast Missouri in the Ozarks about 35 minutes from the Arkansas state line. Has anyone else had to have a pre-surgical trache put in?
