Has surgery done april 6, decided to join a support group bc I know im gonna need all the support I can get. As of this moment I am on the second week liquid stage, and having so many difficulties seems like everything i drink is to acidic for me from water to zero sugar powerade/gatorade. And at times I feel like I'm drinking too much, that I fear I'm stretching my pouch, I also need help to leave that "fat girl" mindset, a part of me is like "i want chips, i want candy, i want pizza" and I can't be successful with that mindset.

You won't stretch your pouch, so don't worry about that. I do understand the mindset problem. I am almost 2 years out and had a very successful first year but my second year has been extremely hard. Being in a support group like this helps tremendously so I am glad you found us.

Try to focus on your program and what you can have and forget about the stuff you can't. Once you start losing a fair amount of weight, that in itself will be your inspiration and motivation.

If you are having problems with acid, speak to your doctor. Have they given you anything for that?

Hello and welcome. One of our older members once said that being a "fat girl" was as much a part of her as the color of her eyes. I felt that to my soul. This surgery is a tool yes, but only for the physical. All the work on that mentality has to be done by you. Which sucks lol so it's good you've found us.

I am almost 2 years out, have met and surpassed my original goal and have maintained my weight within a 5lb range for over a year. I still struggle, not always but I do still struggle, with the mental part of the program. Not only is food physically pleasurable, smell, taste etc but it's also mentally pleasurable. They don't' call it comfort food for nothing.

But this early out, your only concern is following doctors' orders and making sure you are getting enough protein and water. You are not experiencing actual hunger yet and aren't allowed to eat. So, while pizza might sound amazing (and it does) it would make you sick at this point so remind yourself there is no point in thinking about it.
