new job and smelly farts

Have a new job starting as a nurse next week and I am really worried about the foul smelling farts I have and the poop also. Is there anything to take to help with this problem?
How far out from surgery are you? It may settle. I still have good days and bad days. My poor husband! :D

Maybe check with your doctor depending on how out you are from surgery, but there are some charcoal supplements I’ve seen at WalGreens. Or gasx or beano?

Not to make light of it, but there are pads that mask the odor that you can wear - I have not tried them personally, but I have heard from others that they do work. Also, carry a travel thing of poo-pourri for the bathroom.

I've asked my surgeon if he really did preform the surgery on me!! I didn't have post-surgery gas pains from the gas they blow up your body with to see better nor have I had any rectal gas, stinky or otherwise. And, no dumping syndrome. The only thing I've been graced with is accidentally eating more than my 1/4 cup (did it twice) and suffered pain and throw up. I am thankful I've been so lucky.

But, I really wouldn't mind stinky gas. I could pay my husband back in kind!!! :D:D:D

Luckily, I haven't had to deal with that kind of gas but I do struggle with IBS with diarrhea that surgery seemed to exacerbate (the jury is still out on the underlying cause). I'm seriously grateful to be working from home for the time being. It was getting awkward running to the bathroom 5-10 times a day at the office, worrying someone else would be in there!

It also depends on what you're eating. It's a litmus test really...I've had to give up pasta, Chinese food and certain junk foods that no longer agree with me. My sweet tooth, OTOH, has increased post-surgery. Anyone else? The surgery affects us all in different ways.

Bad farts-gas was never a topic from my surgery group. Even in the group consult sessions, it was never brought up.

However, being into weight lifting off & on my entire life, im acutely aware of the effects of a high protein diet...namely very stinky farts and lots of them. And even ninja squirts, the surprise nobody appreciates. Cause you cant just blast the protein, you have to kick up your fiber intake considerably also else you get constipated badly.

So after my surgery and continuing today , i have a extreme number & volume of farts and they are vile, unholy abominations. My poor family. The gas is so frequent & demanding i simply cannot go to the bathroom every time.

I attribute it to my high protein diet. And to the funky ingredients in protein powders n bars, and the fiber additives in so much that i eat now.

When i eat something especially bad, like beans, ill take a gasx dose before and that enzyme allows your digestive system the ability to digest the fiber...the fiber normally feeding all the gut bacteria responsible for producing the fart gases. Gasx works but i dont dare use it often.

The benefit of fiber is that its not digestible, so taking an enzyme to digest it probably eliminates the benefit of it.

Anyway, you are not alone. I have terrible gas also, but ive not thought about asking my doc about it.
