New member seeking support

Hello Belle and Stine-
I've read somewhere in this forum that if you get off-kilter there is a way to stabilize things. It was recommended that you get back on the all-liquid diet from your post surgery days. Give it a few days or a week. Rethink your intake portions and your food choices.

Diane's idea to do a food journal is a great suggestion.

Good Luck!

Hello all. I am waiting for my first appointment with MD. My question is would it pay for me to start protein shake now? Also I'm not sure if sleeve or bypass , although not seen by Dr yet. Just looking for advice before my appointment. Diabetic, hbp all the party favors of being older and fed up with Hlth problems.
Thanks

Hello Redy- You are in the right place! Look around this forum for pre-op information. Once you commit to the surgery you want, there will be a lot of prepatory work for you to do. One thing being a pre-op liquid diet about one to two weeks before surgery. It is rather strict and is structured to give you the best nutrition. I wouldn't advise diving in too early without dr supervision with your health problems.

I'm having the same problem but I'm only 2 1/2 years post-OP. I've lost my family support and I am having a hard time. I've gained almost 40 pounds in the last 6 months. Please, need help!
Hello Snake- My advice for you is the same as I mentioned above. Depending on your current health and doctor's advice, think about going back to square one. Get back in touch with everything you originally did to lose weight. Lots of protein, water and exercise. It works if you work it!

Hi snake, I can imagine you are feeling overwhelmed right now. I feel you! From what I have read, it's not uncommon to gain some weight back. You lost the weight before, you can do it again. Make a plan. I would talk to your dietician and follow her advice. Take it one day at a time. Make a food and exercise diary and be accountable. You can do this!!! I'm rooting for you..... Weezy

Thanks, my therapist and I figured out what the problem was. I have been backsliding I guess. My brain is telling me that I have lost too much wieght and due to my past I'm self defeating myself. I'm having lots of trouble with that. I'm trying to go back to the beginning and start over because I felt really good. I don't know what changed. I guess it's true about getting out of your head. I started my journey at 351lbs, I lost 130lbs in the first year because I developed ulcers and couldn't eat at all. But now I gained 40 lbs and now I'm back at 252lbs. I'm trying to get my head right, I'm seeing a therapist and taking my meds so hopefully I will start losing again.
