Dianeseattle Hi., I'm new. had a gastric sleeve surgery on 1-7-2020. so I'm still in a 1/2 cup of food a meal. the one meal a day was getting ready for surgery. I had a premier protein shake for breakfast, one for lunch, then a meal of 3 oz. protein and 2 cups of carbs for dinner. that was hard I though till I started the 3 protein shakes a day for the meals. I have NASH and my doctor was wanting to shrink my liver all he could. But now so far so good. I'm getting 60mg. of protein and carbs, a day. and the 60 to 80 oz. of water too. so I'm feeling pretty good. I'm about to go on soft food and boy I am looking forward to that.
As for food, 3 years ago my liver doctor got me to give up, colas, most fried foods, and processed foods. You are right about cooking for ones self. The more processed the more sugar and salt you get. fresh or frozen is the healthiest.
anyway, time to get on the stationary bike, have a good day.
