Hello everyone! I’m a new member here, but actually had my bypass surgery in 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. I’ve been maintaining my initial weight loss (within a 5-lbs. range) for the most part for over 3-1/2 years. My desire is to connect with others who are contemplating or have already had bariatric surgery. I hope to share support and motivation, tips and new ideas, and bariatric-friendly recipes. I would love to just have a group of individuals who get me and my struggles and successes. I have a very supportive network of family and friends, but none of them have had bariatric surgery and, therefore, can’t always relate to or sympathize with my surgery-related limitations, occasional stomach issues, as well as my personal triumphs. I’m hoping to find some kindred spirits here.
I’m 66 years old, retired, and striving to live my best life. I feel better than I have in years, enjoy exercise, and my new active lifestyle. My dog is my walking buddy, and we enjoy the outdoors on a daily basis (weather permitting), I exercise at home regularly and go to the gym as often as I can. I have an older, unwell relative, and I currently devote a significant amount of time to visiting her and doing what I can to help her out. This has made maintaining my normal routine challenging. I’m working hard to find balance and not allow any of my good habits to fall by the wayside. I’m hoping that your additional support and insight will help me to continue to succeed.
