Mollymarisa-Welcome to the forum. It's perfectly natural to feel nervous and scared. Afterall, it's a big step you're preparing to take towards a healthier you!!! There will be a few more tests you will need to have including an EKG and bloodwork. You may need a sleep study and pulmonary clearance. Some surgeon's require an Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) which is a test to examine the lining of the esophagus. It goes pretty quick and a lot of people coordinate things so that everything gets done in just a couple of visits.

We are all here to walk with you through everything before and after surgery so don't be bashful about asking questions. Make sure you come back to the forum to let us know how you are doing.

Hi MollyMarisa, Welcome to the forum. It's a great place to start. I am in the process too, I have one more nutrition visit left and as long as the rest of the paperwork is finally in, then they will process for final approval, then 2nd consult with the dr and schedule a date. I was told probably early May. I'm nervous and excited too, but everyone has been really supportive here because they all have gone through it or are going through it now. I've had my sleep study and EGD already along with the recent stress test and psychological evaluation. Everything looks good, I do have to see the sleep study doctor on Friday, but that is just for results and he may give me something to help me sleep better, even though I don't have sleep apnea, I do snore quite a bit. So, if you have questions feel free to pm me or just ask on the threads and we will help you as we can. Good luck and keep us informed please!
