Hello, I'm new to the group. I had bypass on 02/26. I had it done as a last effort to stop acid reflux. I had no idea about this emotional roller coaster that would follow. Anyone else have issues after bypass

I'm new. Had my surgery May '02. Still having trouble with doctors and time-released-extended release etc. meds and what we can and cannot take!!! They all are aware of my surgery yet for some reason they have a lapse of memory!!! I always check with pharmacists who are very helpful and knowledgable ~~~ at times more then the doctors!!!

Elder!!?? Don't like the sound of that! ;) JK. I'm 65 so that does make me somewhat old~I knew what you meant though. LOL
Had Roux-En-y in May '02. Reached and surpassed my goal in about 18mths. But before you give me a gold star I also developed "transferred addition" to Xanax(that was back when they gave it out more freely then now). I put my family thru hell for quite a while which I will never forgive myself for.
Sorry you talked about supplements and my surgery and I give you my sob story!!
You are a bariatric poster child and I am a flunky and a horrible example. I more or less have fallen along the wayside.
Since I'm to lazy to get up and look I''ll do my best.
I take iron~B12~Calcium~multi-vitamin and that's it(along with everything else unrelated) to GBS. Please no lectures as no one should use me as any example!!
My issues with my stomach are mainly stress related. If I'm eating and become upset~aggravated etc.(husband is almost always the cause of that) and can almost feel my stomach shutting down and can't eat anything else.
Time-release meds have always been an issue. Just recently I've been on anti-depressants and my doctor knows my issues but she must be getting senile. Long story(very-very long)short was given a new med(which I wasn't aware it was time-release~assuming my doctor checked). Two hours later I pooped it out~got p.o.ed and flushed them~hence my original post!!!
Hope this is a closed group since I just gave my life story!!! LOL.
And hope I didn't put you to sleep as I gave you way more then you asked.

What do you mean by emotional roller coaster? I haven't had mine yet. Just finishing up all my requirements, but I too am doing this as a last effort to stop my acid reflux. It's the main reason for me wanting to surgery. Yes, to lose weight too but mainly for the acid reflux. Can you tell me what brought you to your decision? How bad was your acid reflux and has that part helped in controlling it. I'm sorry to hear about the emotional part of it. I hope it was worth it.
