Hi Lilly. Welcome to the group. I am interested in why your age (62) is part of your choice of surgeries. Did your surgeon recommend VSG? I was 59 in July when I had my gastric bypass surgery. I chose it because I've had acid reflux occasionally, and it was the better choice for me to avoid GERD after surgery.

Good luck with finding a good fit with your bariatric team.

i haven't talked with a surgeon just went to seminar. I was told the sleeve is better because it is easier on your system no supplements. I live in Salt Lake City. One of the surgeons i had been referred to they don't have a support system per say they just send you for surgery and you are on your way.. The Bariatric center has a team that works with you and some have had the surgery. I am just worried about my age and such. I want to lose 60 lbs. which will still have my overweight but is more realistic.

GERD was a huge decision in my surgery as well! They said that it could be very bad if i did get a VGS, i originally wanted VGS, but they strongly recommended a bypass, so that is what i am going with.

When you say no supplements, do you mean no vitamins post op?
