I stayed overnight - after surgery. My then 17 year old daughter stayed with me in the hospital. She was wonderful. She's my rock - no matter what's going on or where she is - I can always count my Hayleigh girl! She's actually been my hospital "buddy" several times over the years. Like others said - I was restricted from driving for several weeks. Best of luck to you on this wild life altering journey!
