Hey all!

I'm Sara! Have my wls (duodenal switch) scheduled for 7/20 this year and am currently starting my second week of the liver reduction diet. I have a great support system but don't have anyone close to me that has had surgery so I'm hoping to make some friends to relate to/lean on if/when needed. Look forward to chatting with y'all!

Congrats on your 40lb weight loss. That is awesome!

Almost all of us have had a stall of several weeks or more. Usually it will break eventually as long as you faithfully consume 60+ grams of protein, drink 64-80ozs of water, and get in movement daily.

Having said that, please try to record in a journal everything you eat, and what times you are eating, including little bites or nibbles of snacks, etc. Are you consuming more carbs than you probably should? This includes white bread and tortillas, potatoes, pasta noodles and white rice, as well as any sweets, fruit juices, and more. These are simple carbs that break down quickly and turn into sugars in your body for quick energy. Unfortunately if you don't burn off those sugars, they are stored easily as fat.

You usually can have more complex carbs that break down more slowly, add healthy fiber to your diet, and keep you fuller longer.

Good luck in breaking through that stall. It definitely will happen and weight loss will resume. Please stay in touch.
