10 weeks post-op I have lost 44 lbs. I am having the most pain when getting food stuck and it last 18 to 24 hours does any one else experience this also.
Is it normal to not know?I tend to eat too fast too without realizing it sometimes I’ve only gotten food stuck once . The only time I get stomach pain is if I eat too fast or eat too much cause I don’t know if I’m full half the time

That's a tough habit to break! I still catch myself eating too quickly sometimes at a year in!I have to really stay focused when I eat. My food gets stuck in the pouch .
What do you mean be getting food stuck, where does it get stuck. Do you choke? Or, get sickI tend to eat too fast too without realizing it sometimes I’ve only gotten food stuck once . The only time I get stomach pain is if I eat too fast or eat too much cause I don’t know if I’m full half the time
Hey Roseanne,What do you mean be getting food stuck, where does it get stuck. Do you choke? Or, get sick
+1000 I get the "uncomfortable feeling" and it can last for hours!Hey Roseanne,
In the early stages for me, If I didn't chew well enough or ate quickly, I would feel that bite in my lower esophagus (in the spot right as it would be trying to enter the pouch). It would just take some time to break down, which was uncomfortable but I didn't feel like I had to choke or vomit. When this would happen, I'd take tiny sips of water every few minutes to help break it down. It only happened a couple times because once you experience it, you definitely want to avoid it happening again.![]()
Dec 2 to be exact. I had my follow up psych meeting last week. He suggested setting mini goals. I set 275 as my next step. Then 250. Each one should be attainable .Hey Taxman!!! I just noticed your tickler--88.5 lbs lost--That's amazing!! Keep up the good work. Didn't you start your journey in Dec??
That's awesome, congratulations!!!Dec 2 to be exact. I had my follow up psych meeting last week. He suggested setting mini goals. I set 275 as my next step. Then 250. Each one should be attainable .
In the very beginning, all you need to focus on is staying hydrated, so sip, sip, sip. Ice chips help too and it's nice to have something to crunch on. You're going to do great.Thank you for explaining about how food gets stuck. I should have made a handbook with all these important notes. I really have to concentrate on taking small bites and chewing & chewing into an applesauce consistency. And sipping my drinks. I feel like Pooh of little mind (Winnie that is), so much to remember!!
That's great advise--thanks for sharing it. A follow-up psych appt. I haven't heard of that requirement before. (But, I like the advise)Dec 2 to be exact. I had my follow up psych meeting last week. He suggested setting mini goals. I set 275 as my next step. Then 250. Each one should be attainable .
