One month after surgery

It has been a month since my surgery. I have had some struggles but overall I am not doing too bad. I will be glad when I can get back to normal food. Also, have more energy to exercise.
I felt the same way, and I can attest that you will get to the soft food side. I had gastric bypass on 09-16-2020 and I'm 6 weeks out and I am enjoying my new life despite my recent loss of my dad.

Hi Susan - congratulations on having surgery! I think most people have some sort of issues/struggles and others have a lot. It truly varies. Sounds like for the most part you're doing great!

As for getting back to normal food - I'm 9 months post-op and I haven't discovered normal food again. For me - a lot of foods I loved before WLS - I can't eat now for all sorts of reasons. My body does crave protein - which is a positive thing.

Go slow once you're allowed to have normal food. Add them slowly - maybe 1 a day so that if you have issues you'll know what food is causing it. You can avoid it for a while and then re-visit that food later down the road.

You GOT this! I truly wish the best of luck on this amazing new life journey!
