Well I thought I was not even going to look at the plastics until next year, but... it might be happening as early as JUNE!! An opportunity presented and I think I should go for it. I am going to use Dr. Suarez @ CER Hospital in Mexico. Great reviews, and I have spoken with several patients for reference. Anyone here use him? I'd love your feedback. I will be doing a lot: extended arm lift, upper body lift with lateral extension (back/bra area), circular tummy tuck (may do fleur de lis once he is there and determines if the circular is sufficient), and breast lift. This will basically address everything except for my inner thighs. And recovery is basically a spa hospital for 5 days before heading home - all inclusive, like a vacation (hey - no kids along will make it a vacation, LOL). Gonna be a busy surgery year - my hysterectomy is this Thursday!

Good luck Thursday and I'm so happy for you that this could be happening in June! As you know, I had all the areas done that you are and am recovering just fine. :) sounds like your initial 5 days will be a lot nicer than mine were though! ;)

I mean... cannot complain at all about a spa recovery, right!?! A little nervous about out of country, but it is only about a 2.5 hour drive from home, and the recommendations/reviews for this place are amazing!

I get being a little nervous about going out of the country but when I was researching, I became less weary about that, there are wonderful surgeons everywhere. I read so many reviews and chatted with patients who had surgery in Mexico. The distance was the only reason I cancelled with Dr. Sauceda. Flying from upstate NY to Mexico would have to be a 1-time trip. Even if I had been able to stay a month to ensure all drains and stitches were out, I couldn't fly back down for routine follow ups and possible scar revisions. But you living just a couple hours away is awesome!

My bariatric surgeon will get me for the follow ups/drain removal, which is a huge help. I don't anticipate needing to go back down unless there is some big issue. Are you doing lymphatic massages with your recovery? I am going to be doing that, and just curious about it.

That's awesome that your bariatric surgeon will be hands on! I had asked mine as well as my primary doctor and both said no due to potential liability issues.

I read about lymphatic massages but no, unfortunately it hasn't been part of my recovery. :( I may spring for a couple traditional massages once I'm healed a bit more. One thing that I didn't read about was the toll the stomach work would have on my back. You're hunched over the first couple weeks. I'm just now standing completely straight and tomorrow is 4 weeks post-op.

I am definitely anticipating the back issues - after 2 c-sections, I vaguely recall that, which is minor comparatively, and I will get a wonderful reminder on Thursday - my hysterectomy is open, using the old c-section scar.

Good luck Thursday. Is it an inpatient procedure or will you get to go home that night?
