My 19 month toddler is very upset I can't hold him, or even pick him up.
I had surgery yesterday...its going to be a long 3 weeks...

Also, he was still breastfeeding, but I CAN'T with these holes in my belly..
That's going to be rough on both of us. I should have tried to wean him beforehand; I didn't even think about it.

Have you tried breast feeding with a pillow over your stomach? It might work. Picking him up is definitely dangerous. You could tear an incision.

I'm so sorry. As a mom that breastfed for a very long time with all 4 kids I can feel this. I would try nursing tbh. You don't want to deal with mastitis on top of everything!

Yes I've been nursing with pillow protection. It's been difficult, but we're doing okay so far.
These staples are so itchy I'm ready for them to go lol

I continued to nurse our toddler through out all of this. I just had him sit next to me instead of on me to nurse him. He did just fine and we got through it with no issues. Best wishes!
